Toddler Assault Sparks Outrage at Sydney Childcare Centre
In a shocking revelation out of Western Sydney, two former childcare workers at Little Zak's Academy in Doonside have been charged with assaulting a toddler multiple times. NSW Police confirmed the charges, which include five counts of common assault.
The alleged incidents took place on October 13, and authorities were notified when a report was made on Monday. Both women were promptly terminated by the centre once the allegations surfaced.
Centre Reacts: Zero Tolerance Policy
A spokesperson for Little Zak's Academy said:
“It is devastating that any child in our care would be handled in this way. We pride ourselves on the quality of care provided and act quickly with zero tolerance when issues arise.”
The centre is also conducting a full review of its Doonside operations to ensure all safety protocols and policies are strictly followed.
Court Appearance and Next Steps
The women, who held valid Working with Children Checks and passed criminal history checks, are set to appear before Blacktown Local Court on December 4. Authorities and the community are calling for transparency and stronger measures to protect children in care.
