RailTel Corporation of India saw its share price rise by 3% on March 10, extending its gains for the fifth consecutive day. The increase followed the announcement of a work order worth Rs 28.29 crore from Northern Railway. At 09:18 am, the stock was trading at Rs 307.30, up Rs 8.75, or 2.93 percent, on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The order involves indoor and outdoor double distant signalling work, which is scheduled to be completed by September 6, 2026. The positive momentum also follows the company’s recent achievement of securing a work order from the State Transport Authority Odisha. This project, valued at Rs 2,62,33,85,540, involves the upgradation of the existing Command Control Centre to a Unified Command Control Centre and the implementation of the Intelligent Enforcement Management System (IEMS).
In addition, RailTel received multiple other work orders, including one from the Border Security Force for Rs 19,08,82,886, and another from East Central Railway for Rs 47,50,05,370. These contracts contribute to the company’s growing portfolio.
The company also reported positive financial growth for the quarter ended December 2024. RailTel posted a nearly 5% year-on-year increase in net profit, reaching Rs 65 crore, up from Rs 62.10 crore in the same quarter of the previous year. Revenue saw a significant rise of 14.8%, reaching Rs 767.6 crore, compared to Rs 668.4 crore in Q3 FY24.
A board meeting is scheduled for March 12, 2025, where the company will consider declaring the second interim dividend for the financial year 2024-25 and determine the record date for eligible shareholders.
