After the company announced the introduction of Darunavir Tablets, 600 mg, and 800 mg, to market a generic alternative to Prezista Tablets of Janssen Products, LP, shares of pharmaceutical giant Lupin increased by about 2% to reach a 52-week high of Rs 830.3 in Monday's trade on BSE.

According to IQVIA MAT March 2023, Lupin predicted that Darunavir Tablets, 600 mg and 800 mg (RLD Prezista) had US annual sales of $308 million.

Tablets containing darunavir are recommended for the treatment of HIV-1 infections. To help control HIV infection, the medicine is used along with other HIV medications. It helps to lower the body's level of HIV so that the immune system can function more effectively.

The stock went up 0.5% to Rs 821.3 at 11.30 am on the BSE. The stock has increased over 16% in the previous month and over 35% in the past year.

Lupin recorded a consolidated net profit of Rs 246.7 crore in Q4FY23, a decrease of 25.3% from the net profit of Rs 330.43 in the quarter ending in December 2022. EBITDA for the pharmaceutical company increased significantly, rising by an astounding 117.8% YoY to Rs 615 crore. Its operating revenue increased by 12% from Rs 3,864.50 crore in the same quarter a year before Rs 4,330.30 crore in Q4FY23.

According to Trendlyne statistics, the stock's average target price is down 11% from current market values at Rs 734. Lupin has received a Buy recommendation as a group from 36 analysts.
