JSW Group has forged a strategic partnership with Coolbrook, a Finland-based firm, to introduce cutting-edge low-carbon emission technology at its Vijayanagar plant in Karnataka.
This collaboration comes on the heels of Coolbrook's successful completion of the initial phase of large-scale pilot tests for RotoDynamic Technology at the Brightlands Chemelot Campus in the Netherlands in 2023.
The joint venture aims to implement Coolbrook's RotoDynamic Heater (RDH) Technology at JSW's manufacturing sites in Vijayanagar Works, focusing on achieving lower CO2 emissions in steel and cement production.
The RDH technology, a pivotal aspect of this collaboration, harnesses renewable electricity to power high-temperature industrial processes in steel and cement production, thereby significantly diminishing the reliance on fossil fuels, as highlighted by JSW Group.
P K Murugan, President at JSW Steel Vijayanagar and Salem Works, expressed optimism about the potential impact of RDH Technology on the substantial decarbonization of the group's manufacturing processes.
