JSW Renew Energy Eleven, a subsidiary of JSW Energy, has made significant strides in the renewable energy sector by signing a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).

This agreement, part of SECI's Tranche XIII, covers a substantial 700 MW solar capacity and is connected to the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS).

Under the terms of the PPA, JSW Renew Energy Eleven will supply power for a period of 25 years at a competitive tariff of Rs 2.56 per kilowatt-hour (kWh).

The solar project is slated for commissioning within the next 24 months, marking a pivotal step in India's push towards increasing renewable energy sources.

JSW Energy has set ambitious targets for its operations, aiming to achieve an operational capacity of 10 gigawatts (GW) by the fiscal year 2025.

Currently, the company boasts an operational capacity of 7.9 GW, which encompasses thermal, hydro, and renewable energy sources.

Additionally, JSW Energy has secured 16.2 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of energy storage capacity, combining both battery energy storage systems and hydro pumped storage projects.

Looking further ahead, the company plans to expand its generation capacity to 20 GW and its energy storage capacity to 40 GWh by 2030.

This growth is part of JSW Energy's broader commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility, with a target of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.

With this latest PPA, JSW Energy continues to position itself as a key player in the renewable energy landscape, contributing to India's transition towards a greener energy future
