JSW Cement, part of the diversified JSW Group, has announced plans to invest Rs 3,000 crore to establish a new manufacturing plant in Nagaur, Rajasthan.
This strategic expansion aims to enhance the company's production capacity in Northern India, a region where infrastructure development is rapidly increasing.
The proposed facility in Nagaur is expected to have an annual production capacity of 3.5 million tonnes.
This significant capacity expansion is designed to meet the growing demand for cement, spurred by increased construction activities in the region.
Rajasthan, with its substantial limestone reserves, is an ideal location for cement manufacturing, and this new plant will leverage these resources effectively.
Parth Jindal, Managing Director of JSW Cement, highlighted the importance of this investment in the company’s broader growth strategy.
He emphasized that this expansion aligns with JSW Cement's long-term goals of increasing its overall production capacity and enhancing its footprint in the lucrative North Indian market.
The company aims to elevate its total capacity to 25 million tonnes per annum by 2025, up from its current capacity.
The investment is also expected to bring considerable economic benefits to the region of Nagaur, including the creation of employment opportunities and the development of local infrastructure.
JSW Cement’s commitment to sustainability will be reflected in the operation of the new plant, which will incorporate advanced, environmentally friendly technologies to minimize carbon emissions and water usage.
Construction of the Nagaur plant is scheduled to commence shortly, with completion targeted within the next 36 months.
Once operational, the facility will not only bolster JSW Cement's supply capabilities but will also contribute to the company’s competitiveness in the national market.
