Hindustan Aeronautics, the esteemed state-owned defence enterprise, has recently made significant strides with its latest deal worth Rs 1,173.42 crore alongside Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), Kochi.
This groundbreaking agreement entails the supply of six sets of LM2500 Gas Turbines (GT) and GT Auxiliaries (GTAE), including spares and tools, for the Indian Navy's Next Generation Missile Vessel (NGMV) Project.
The company's shares surged by 2 per cent in early trading on April 1, reaching Rs 3,404.25 on the BSE, marking an impressive upswing of Rs 77.00 or 2.31 per cent.
In addition to this monumental deal, Hindustan Aeronautics has been actively engaged in various other lucrative contracts, showcasing its robust performance and strategic partnerships.
Notably, on March 22, the company secured a contract with the Guyana Defence Force (GDF), Government of Guyana, for the provision of two Hindustan-228 commuter aircraft along with Manufacturer Recommended List of Spares (MRLS), Ground Handling Equipment/Ground Support Equipment, Training, and Hand-holding, valued at a total of MUSD 23.37 (approximately Rs 194 crore).
Furthermore, on March 15, the Ministry of Defence inked a significant contract with Hindustan Aeronautics for the Mid Life Upgrade (MLU) of 25 Dornier Aircraft, accompanied by associated equipment for the Indian Navy, amounting to around Rs 2,890 crore.
Before that, on March 13, the Ministry of Defence sealed two crucial contracts worth Rs 8,073.17 crore with the company.
These contracts involved the acquisition of 34 Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) Dhruv Mk III, along with Operational Role Equipment for both the Indian Army (25 ALHs) and the Indian Coast Guard (09 ALHs).
The remarkable performance of Hindustan Aeronautics is also evident in its stock performance, with shares reaching a 52-week high of Rs 4,180.00 and a 52-week low of Rs 1,767.95 on September 11, 2023, and October 26, 2023, respectively.
The stock is trading at approximately 18.56 per cent below its 52-week high, showcasing resilience and stability in the market while demonstrating an impressive surge of 92.55 per cent from its 52-week low.
