Ambuja Cements is taking a major step towards achieving its Net Zero goals by embracing new, environmentally friendly technology aimed at reducing its carbon footprint.
As part of its efforts to decarbonize its cement manufacturing process, the company has entered into a strategic partnership with Coolbrook, a technology and engineering firm based in Finland.
This collaboration will allow Ambuja to implement Coolbrook’s innovative RotoDynamic Heater (RDH) technology, which will help the company reduce its dependence on fossil fuels and significantly cut down its carbon emissions.
The RDH technology works by using mechanical energy to generate high temperatures, but instead of relying on traditional fossil fuels, it uses green power.
This makes the process much more sustainable and cost-effective. In cement manufacturing, high temperatures are needed to heat materials in the cement kiln pre-calciner, an essential part of the production process.
By replacing or reducing the use of fossil fuels in this part of the production, RDH technology will help Ambuja achieve its goal of reducing emissions associated with the use of conventional fuels in cement plants.
One of the key advantages of RDH technology is that it is completely carbon-free. This means that it does not produce the harmful carbon emissions that are typically generated when fossil fuels are used for heating purposes.
