Aditya Birla Capital, a financial services company under the Aditya Birla Group, recently completed a successful fundraising exercise, raising a total of Rs 3,000 crore. The capital infusion involved a qualified institutional placement (QIP) that raised Rs 1,750 crore and a preferential issue of shares amounting to Rs 1,250 crore to promoter entities Grasim Industries and Surya Kiran Investments.

The shares were issued at Rs 175 each, and on Friday, the company's shares closed at Rs 196.35 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), reflecting a 1.42% increase from Wednesday's closing price. The market remained closed on Thursday in observance of Bakr-e-Eid.

BlackRock, Norges Bank, and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) were among the prominent buyers participating in Aditya Birla Capital's share sale to institutional investors. Notably, this marked the first-ever QIP by Aditya Birla Capital, and it commenced on June 26, with the company executing the issuance at the floor price set for the offering.

In addition to BlackRock and ADIA, foreign portfolio investors, sovereign wealth funds, and domestic institutional investors took part in the QIP. The list of participants included renowned names such as Capital Group, Royal Bank of Canada, M&G Investments, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Public Sector Pension Investment Board, and SBI Life Insurance.
