Suzlon Group, a leading player in renewable energy solutions, has secured a substantial 225 MW wind energy project from Everrenew Energy.

The project involves the installation of 75 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with a Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) tower, each boasting a rated capacity of 3 MW.

These turbines, part of Suzlon's larger-rated 3 MW S144-140m series, will be positioned at Everrenew Energy's sites in Vengaimandalam, Trichy district, and Ottapidaram, Tuticorin district in Tamil Nadu, according to a company statement.

Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, underscored the project's significance in catering to the commercial and industrial (C&I) segment of the Indian market.

He stated, "This project with Everrenew Energy serves the promising commercial and industrial (C&I) segment of the Indian market, which will be important in driving our national targets over time."

Under the agreement, Suzlon is not only responsible for supplying the wind turbines but also overseeing the entire project, including the commissioning process.

Furthermore, Suzlon will undertake comprehensive operations and maintenance services post-commissioning.

JP Chalasani, Chief Executive Officer of Suzlon Group, highlighted the broader impact of the project, stating, "The power generated from this project will be used for captive needs as well as target the C&I consumer segment, creating deeper penetration of renewable energy in India.

The substantial size of the project is expected to provide electricity to approximately 1.85 lakh households and significantly reduce around 7.31 lakh tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.

R Venkatesh, Chief Executive Officer of Everrenew Energy, expressed confidence in Suzlon's capabilities, stating, "Partnering with Suzlon brings us great collaboration, and our repeat orders underscore our trust in their reliable technology and great track record in India."

This latest contract further solidifies Suzlon's position in the renewable energy sector, demonstrating its commitment to sustainable solutions and contributing to India's national targets for clean energy production.
