Trump Wants Investigation Into Biden’s Final Days in Office

Former President Donald Trump is now asking his team to dig into some of the decisions Joe Biden made while he was still president — especially around the time Biden used an autopen to sign official documents like pardons and orders. Trump says he believes Biden wasn’t really the one in charge and that his aides may have covered up his mental health issues.

He’s pushing this idea that if Biden wasn’t fully aware or present when big decisions were made, then maybe those decisions shouldn’t count. Biden Pushes Back, Says He Made All the Decisions

In response, Biden was quick to defend himself. He released a statement saying he personally made the decisions during his time in office — including the pardons and executive orders. He called Trump’s claim “ridiculous and false,” and said he wasn’t just a figurehead.

Republicans Want Testimony From Biden’s Former Advisors

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, a Republican from Kentucky, is now asking five of Biden’s former top aides to testify. He believes they witnessed Biden’s decline and helped keep it under wraps. These are big names like Ron Klain (former chief of staff) and Anita Dunn (senior adviser).

Comer says if they don’t come in for voluntary interviews soon, subpoenas will be sent. He also wants Biden’s former doctor and a few more aides to testify about the president’s mental state.

According to Comer, the public deserves to know if Biden was really the one making decisions — or if others were doing it in his name.

Democrats Say This is Just Another Distraction

On the other side, Democrats say this whole thing is just political drama. Rep. Jamie Raskin, a top Democrat on the Oversight Committee, basically said that Comer had already tried and failed to impeach Biden, and now he’s just dragging things out with more noise.

They believe it’s just a way to stir controversy, especially since Biden dropped out of the 2024 race after a debate performance where he seemed confused and forgetful. Kamala Harris stepped in as the Democratic candidate after that, but ended up losing to Trump.

Is There Any Real Proof?

So far, Trump hasn’t provided any concrete evidence that Biden was unaware of what was being signed or that he wasn’t mentally fit to lead. The claims seem to be based more on suspicions and political rivalry than solid facts. Comer and others are pointing to a book by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios’ Alex Thompson that says Biden wasn’t fully in control during his presidency. But Biden’s family and team say that book is completely false.
